    Snowdrop Valley & Wheddon Cross

    Every February Wheddon Cross becomes a focus of attention with the stunning snowdrop valley coming into full bloom.  Carpeted from top to tail with snowdrops this natural spectacle has become a favourite with visitors for many years.  

    Wheddon Cross which  truly is in the heart of Exmoor is a charming rural community.  The local pub the Rest and Be Thankful is only a short walk from Sundial guest house.

    The long distance path passes right through Wheddon Cross and Sundial House makes a perfect stopover point on the journey.

    We can transfer your bags for you to your next stopover for a small charge.

    If you prefer not to carry your luggage and to stay in one comfortable place for the three day walk why not stay at Sundial House and use the Moor Rover Service to drop you off and pick you up each day. That way you can come bakc and relax and enjoy our hospitality and good foodeach evening. Wheddon Cross is a perfect location to take advantage of this service. 

     

     

    Exmoor is a truely wild and remote environment.  Herds of endangered Exmoor ponies run wild on the hills. Discovering a new born wild foal in the spring is one of lifes real treats.   exmoorponies.jpg

    Exmoor is also home to herds of wild red deer that roam freely.     

    Enjoy activites and attractions for all tastes. With over 600 miles of path, track and bridleway you can enjoy Exmoor up close and personally. 

    Exmoor is a haven for cycling enthusiasts, riders and walkers alike.  For the more relaxed simply stroll among the regions many poreserved towns and villages.  Explore Dunster with it's imposing castle and  200 listed buildings. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the sleepy country town of Dulverton.
